Professor Sally Inglis

Professor Sally Inglis (University of Technology Sydney) is a Heart Foundation Future Leader Fellow and a nationally and internationally-recognised research leader and expert in nurse-led and remotely delivered models of cardiovascular care, especially telehealth, telemonitoring and digital patient education. Professor Sally Inglis was awarded the 2022 UTS Vice Chancellor’s Research Excellence Medal for Research Impact for research into use of remote monitoring and telehealth for managing heart failure.
Professor Inglis’ research has accumulated over 5000 citations (including 850 citations of a PhD publication in the British Medical Journal). Prof Inglis was invited to author a special editorial for the European Journal of Heart Failure on telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her research has been published in leading cardiovascular, medical and telehealth journals, including the British Medical Journal (2007), European Journal of Heart Failure (numerous); Cochrane Database of Systematic reviews (numerous).
Professor Inglis is the lead author on the "Cardiovascular Nursing and Climate Change: A Call to Action from the CSANZ Cardiovascular Nursing Council" published in Heart Lung Circulation which provide key considerations for cardiovascular nursing, related to climate and environmental impacts on health, healthcare access and delivery and builds upon PhD research published in the European Journal of Heart Failure.
Professor Inglis is an influential cardiovascular and nursing research leader and holds leadership roles in cardiovascular organisations: 1) Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ), Chair Professional and Ethical Standards Committee, member, Quality and Standards Committee; 2) Australian Cardiovascular Alliance (ACvA) Implementation Science Committee and member of the organising committee for the Inaugural National Cardiovascular Implementation & Policy Roundtable (2022) and EMCR Summit (2023); 3) Deputy Chair, NSW Cardiovascular Research Network, co-funded by the Heart Foundation and NSW Office for Medical Research. Prof Inglis is a former Chair of the Cardiovascular Nursing Council of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ, from 2016-2022).
Professor Inglis is an outstanding mentor for early career researchers, especially nurses and allied health professionals and has collaborated and authored publications related to threats and opportunities to support ECRs in cardiovascular research and in particular support equity, diversity an inclusion in cardiovascular research. Most notably, is a 2022 publication in Nature Reviews Cardiology and was selected as a 2023 Franklin Women mentor.
Professor Inglis’ research is currently supported by the Heart Foundation, National Health and Medical Research Council and Medical Research Future Fund.
